would just like to thank you all for all your help over the recent months with my silly questions, thank you for tolerating me at times im sure lol

altho sadly lol there will be more questions, a few of which will be mentioned in the following sentences lol

what all can i do to my car to make my engine love me? lol :) im planning on using only BP ultimate diesel as it burns quieter and cleaner and is also better for the engine :) has anyone much experience with this fuel? all opinions wlecome :)

i'll be doing the EGR mod to ensure that my car is breathing on air and putting on the pd160 air intake to provide that little extra air :) also will be cleaning boost pipes and EGR just for peace of mind,

has anyone else got any suggestions of tips and tricks for keeping the engine running as sweet as a nut (moggytech answers are well appreciated as he seems very knowledgable with this kind of topic)

again, many thanks :)

Have you seen this car is the metal then?

The interior looks to be genuine as it's smooth faced all-over and there aren't leather door cards which is normal for Seat Surgeons retrims.

It's a pre-facelift car as it has black doorhandles. But it's a 56 plate, so it shouldn't be. It also looks like the fusebox on topof the battery isn't right for a 56 plate either. Now, these could be very small issues (older dealer stock car that was tarted up to sell it, or the original owner painted them black?) or they could be signs of a rebuild. It says it's a one-owner car. Would they let you contact the owner do you think?

The other thing that is a dead giveaway would be the rear lights, but you can't see them as there are no pictures of the back of the car.

I'm almost certainly just being paranoid, but you never know! Maybe someone in the Tyneside area could go and have a look?

It's not a pre-facelift car - reasons:

The battery looks just like my 2007 car and nothing like my 2004 post-facelift car.

The seats look very similar to my SE excepting the red trim (mine are blue to go with the paint - though actually they clash...)

The top of the dashboard looks to be textured like my 2007 car and not like my 2004 post-facelift car which had the old texture.

The other give-away would be the presence (older) or absence (newer) of rear door lock buttons - but frustratingly these aren't visible either.

Checking out other cars at Autotrader shows that 07 ones have silver handles, 06 ones and earlier have black handles, and 56 ones have either silver or black.

So I'd conclude there's nothing here to be suspicious of...

thank you, so far so good. and no i havin seen the car in the metal yet, but ive had many more pics sent to my dads computer which i had a look at last night and the car is mint, the dealer says (and i know hes trying to sell the car) that the car is immaculate throughout, and he stresses that it is, he is a very geniune guy and a pleasure to talk to, he promised i would not be disapointed with the cr and if i was he would happily refund the deposit so very decent of him i thought, even will pick us up from the airport :)

hes has numerous calls about the car so maybe somebody on here has seen it or been interested in it? and i wouldn expect somebody to drive and look at a car for me lol

Its funny when they go to great lengths to get you to buy a car then you back out

Salesman picked me up from home to buy a focus st3! Test drove it and it wasnt right so asked for deposit back what a squirming he did!

Goodbye!

Hi Jordon, Car looks well.

I noticed you mentioned you would be doing the EGR mod, by this i take it you mean the EGR delete (Allard Pipe Etc.)? If so what would you be cleaning when you say you will also be cleaning the EGR valve. You say you are removing it so there is nothing left to clean out?

It looks top notch from what I can see.. certainly better nik than mine (it should be though, mines 2 years older, hehe). Leather looks so nice.. Just starting to get at that "used" look (Which, to me, always looks more comfy)

As said above, door handles being body colored has never been set in stone until the very last cars produced.

I'm really pleased you found what you wanted.. I wanted red but then changed to black when I saw a black one at a car supermarket.. I almost bought silver but the guy who was helping me find a good one said I should get the colour I want or I'll never really be happy.

BP Ultimate? I've run almost exclusively on this for the last 2 years.. Gives me, well.. you can see in my sig what it's averaged for the year so far. (bare in mind I drive into west london on my commute.. so no daily motorway cruises)..

I did try a couple of tanks of Shells V Power diesel.. 2 tanks to give the ECU a good chance to calibrate.. didn't like it, not quite as smooth. At the end of 2009 I ran a couple of cheap tanks from supermarkets (Christmas travels).. and it was never as good at, lets say, "overtaking" speeds.. And also (strangely) 2nd wasn't as smooth. So I'm all for BP Ultimate  If you do over 60% town driving like me.. then well worth a shot of millers when you know your gonna pile up the motorway... to help clear out the crud that even the ultimate stuff leaves behind..

hey elliot, no ill just be plugging the vacuum pipe lol, altho may look into a delete pipe at some stage, any benefits of this over just plugging the vacuum pipe? as far as im aware the delete pipe isnt an issure on the BLT as the anti shudder valve is eltrically controlled so i wont get any engine shudder when i turn the ignition off? :) if wrong please say so lol but for now i just plan on bypassing it by disabling it :) and ill prob just clean it anyway even tho i wont be using it as im a bit of a perfectionest and would know in my head that its pretty dirty lol

hi rob thanks for your comment :) and i agree about the seats the look alot better than the standard ones so i decided to hold out to get one that had leather, which there arent too many of, and i went through stages of liking the other colours too lol firstly black, then red then i just fell in love with the silver, think it just looks richer and a bit bigger dunno why lol also having seen a few driving on the road i feel that the silver looks nicer on the road altho the black does look lovely all shined up but the silver will bemuch easier to keep :)

so bp ultimate ftw then lol :)
