Anybody heard of "Just Car Clinic's"

Featured Replies

Hi all my VRS has been taken to "Just Car Clinics" in Hartlepool, looking at their website they are 2nd largest accident repair company in the country. Have told NFU Mutual i want the car repairing (if its repairable) at a Skoda Approved Body Shop. Does anybody have any experience of this company and if so was their experience good or bad. Please respond ASAP as i need to make a decision quickly.

Cheers Phil

nothing but bad reports from our local one, and when my insurance company told me thats who they would be using to repair my previous car i was having non of it. in the end i chose for mine to be taken to a mate of mine who is ins approved in body repair.

Hmm, have been told be a few local folks, not on Brisky, they have had good jobs done at the local one round here.

stick to your guns mate, get it done by a skoda approved repairer

Often if you want to use a body shop of your choice then your insurer might not pay for your courtesy car and they might not guarantee the repair done. Check your insurance small print first.

Its not my insurer, its NFU Mutual the offenders insurance company.

Ah! I see. The only time i was involved in a claim was when my car was hit when it was parked - there was no other party to claim off as the fecker drove off. The claim was on my own insurance.

Still worth checking though. Sometimes your own insurance underwrites the repair and claims the money back off the other insurer.

As above

mine was parked, i was just putting the kids in the car and could see what was happening. despite all the shouting and swearing at him to stop he still reversed straight into the front

i got a courtesy car and all was good as it was his insurance i was claiming off!

i would take it to a dealer rather than "just car clinic" but if you are happy with them to do the work and have heard good thing's about there quality then give them a go

The other thing to look at is that the nearest "Skoda approved" accident repair specialist/bodyshop is either York or Harrogate. an hors drive from me.

I would push to have it done at a Skoda approved repairer too, especially on a car that age! It's not your problem that the nearest one is some distance away. The driver who ran into you should have thought about that before shunting you! :dull:

The car can easily be transported down their on a low-loader and returned to you when rectified.

i whole heartedly agree, with the damage to my Octavia they wanted me to use a company they usually use for repairs, i was having none of it and have insisted dealer work the whole way, end of the day mate its not your fault it happened, they can dance to your tune since you're the one being inconvenienced, just remember when you speak to them not to ask them whats going to happen, but tell them firmly this is what they are going to do and the matter is not negociable with you.

All bodyshops use thatcham rates for repairs so INSIST it goes where you want it to go, it wont cost the insurer any more. If its their fault which they have admitted by offering to repair it I would claim on my insurance & let them claim off NFU rather than use them.

Ring them ASAP & insist that nothing is done with the car until you are happy, some repairesr use the "need to take bits off" to assess damage to get a start on it, I would personally go & check it on the pretext of getting something out of the car.

To add I would go Skoda approved to insure the Skoda Body warranty is not effected let alone getting it done properly, you arent paying so get what you want

What if the Skoda Approved repairer is a Just Car Clinic?

The Just Car Clinic in York advertises the fact that it is used by the Mercedes garage over the road...

you MUST get the car repaired by a Skoda approved repair centre in order to retain your anti-perforation warrenty - otherwise the only warrenty you've got is the 12/24 month one typically offered by an insurers own repairer of choice.

Have just talked to Skoda UK and they have confirmed that as the repairer is an "Insurance Approved repair specialist" and will only use original Skoda parts on my vehicle it will NOT affect ANY of my Skoda warranties. I also have this in an email from Skoda UK.

my worry would be not with the work but more with them not specialising in skodas.....knowing how to take car to pieces without being rough and causing un-necessary damage to other bits

My sentiments also. It's a brand new car effectively. You want it doing properly, and also have the maximum amount of confidence in the repair.

Most approved body repair shops don't specialise in one make of car, even my local Skoda approved centre, which did some work on my Fabia and was based behind a VW dealership, had many different makes of cars in there for repair. It is not the specialising in one make of car that should concern you but the specialising in the quality repair of bodywork, it is an highly specialised skill that is not dependant on make, just so long as they use OEM parts in the repair which all good bodyshops should. If it is local to you then perhaps you could pop down one day and ask to see their workshop and who would be working on your car to satisfy yourself that the repair will be done correctly. NFU Mutual is a big organisation and I don't think they'd like to associate themselves with some fly-by-night dodgy under the railway arches type of grease monkey outfit!!

Yep my feelings exactly, i am going down there next week (mon/Tues) to see the sort and quality of work they are carrying out, as you say NFU will not wish to be associated with bad workmanship, also i talked to Skoda and they said that Just Car Clinica have a good reputation and a lot of insurance companies use them.
