Six month wait?

Featured Replies

I wonder why Skoda are not on this list? I would imagine the Superb estate as well as the Yeti and even the Fabia would be pretty hard to get hold of in a hurry.

The good thing about that list is that it looks like when I win the Lottery, I'll be able to nip into my local Ferrari dealership and drive home in my brand new 458 (though I'll have to return it for some rework before it goes up in flames :giggle: )

In fairness to Skoda with the Yeti, this was a completely new sector they were entering and so accurately predicting demand and gearing production accordingly was going to be difficult. Also, given the recession I guess quite a few potential Freelander, Tiguan and other slightly more "up market" soft roaders owners choose to "downgrade" to a Yeti and save a few quid, thus increasing demand.

On the bright side, it should help to keep residual values on the Yeti quite firm for a good while.

A friend of mine ordered a Yeti a couple of weeks ago after test driving mine. The dealer quoted 5 month delivery. I believe one of the magazines (Autotrader?) is now quoting 7 month delivery for new orders.

If demand continues to increase, and it will have jumped since the Car of the Year award, and supply remains the same, then the delivery time will continue to increase.

Makes my 3 week delivery seem quite modest.
