Only had my Octavia Elegance a couple of weeks and am still working things out, but would like to know if the square black block in the centre of the dashboard has any function such as a sensor.It isnt mentioned in the manual and seems not to be linked to anything.

Useful - didn't know that. Presumed it was perhaps a receiver for the central locking or similar.

If it's just a flat plate it's just a blanking plate isn't it? Ones that contain sensors that I've seen have some kind of receiver "bulb" in them.

Its not a flat plate but has a raised centre so assume it is a receiver.
