Torque settings for Felicia towbar

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just fitted a towbar to my skoda felicia, and I am trying to find out what sort of torque I should tighten up the 4 bolts to?

Its second hand so I don't have any fitting instructions, but I'm pretty sure its an official Skoda towbar (ie not an aftermarket one like witter).

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

That should be ok. Going to be towing with it tomorrow, and the last thing I wanted was to lose the trailer.

tbh for a towbar you don't need to be that scientific about it, just whack them up as tight as you can

But not with a 3ft breaker bar

^^ yeah what he said.... just do them up good and tight be hand using spanners or a ratchet, don't use any silly lever bars

Take a look at this: HERE

These instructions are for a Witter but these settings seems pretty standard and I'm sure my Towsure was around the same values. I remember the girlfriend going a bit red in the face while hanging off the torque wrench.

The bolts should have the grades on them like 8.8 & 10.9.
