Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello and welcome to Briskoda

Any oil that meets VW spec 507 will be O.K. This spec number must be on the container label. If it's not , it's not approved .

Mobil #1 "esp" 5W-30 full synthetic or Castrol Edge 5W-30 full synthetic both meet spec 507 , but check that this spec number is on label.

Hi mate and welcome ,are you sure penrite isn't ink for your fountain pen :giggle:

Mobil #1 "esp" 5W-30 full synthetic

My local ASDA has all Mobil 1 oils reduced to clear tonight - £4 for 1 litre and £15 for 5 litres. They didn't have any 5 litre ESP's left so I bought 5 x 1 litre - still cheap at £20  and yes, it does quote VW 507 spec on the label.

Bloody good bargain that , but the airfare from Australia negates any saving for KevinJ :giggle:
