What's it worth?

Featured Replies

My apologies for this post!

I have an 05 plate Fabia 1.4 tdi Classic. The old girl was a fleet car so has 167,000 on the clock but this is mainly motorway miles. It has just had a thorough service and full belt change, has a year's test and 6 months MOT. My question is, what do you think it is worth?

Whatcar, parkers and webuyanycar are just silly so we wont even go there, am looking at ebay, pistonheads and autotrader for comparison and just wanted Briskoda's devine wisdom

Condition is important, but mileage will put most people off (unreasonably in my opinion). I think posts like this are often deleted as they're considered thinly veiled adverts :)

If you can find a similar car on ebay that has sold, then you have a good approximate price.

Glass's value the TRADE IN price around £1,500, so a private sale would be just over a couple of grand.

I'm sorry but no-one is going to pay £2000 plus for a 5- year old car with 167,000 miles on it. It's just not going to happen. If you can get £1500 for it then I'd say bite that dealer's hand off.

But did you check what they were suggesting? If so what were the figures? Honestly at that mileage you're going to have a real trouble selling it even, never mind getting a decent price...
