Hi

we've been looking at the Fabia estate, and attracted by the VAT-free offer. But I see the small print says for delivery by 31 Dec, which if the dealer is right means needing to order now...but looking at the forum 12-14wks delivery is on the optimistic side - so what's the deal if you order and delivery is then scheduled for 2011?

i am fairly new to this site but may have the answer for you.

i ordered my octavia vrs last week so i could take advantage of the vat free offer

mine has a sunroof so will take even longer than others

they told me delivery late dec / early jan

when i asked the question about the vat free period they told me

as long as the order is in and the deposit paid before sept end

then skoda will honour the vat free deal regardless of delivery date

so get your order in my friend

I ordered my 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance estate on 31 aug, and my build date has changed from week 1 to week 3 (17th Jan), and dealer stated that the vat free still applies as ordered before end september. I think the long delivery date for me is due to having the above engine fitted.

Hi, I've just joined the forum as I'm just bought an ex-demo Octavia which I'm collecting next Thursday.

I was tempted by the VAT free offer, but my local dealer said if I ordered now, and the car came after 1st Jan, they would honour the discount equivalent to the 17.5% VAT, but I would have to pay the additional 2.5% VAT due to the rise to 20%.

Well just picked my octavia up thursday and the dealer told me that if i ordered it now it would take 25 weeks for delivery.
