rear wiper arm

Featured Replies

Hi All,

a bit of advice, u turned the rear wiper on the other day, the arm around the return spring appears to have snaped. i have purchased a replacement part, which now appears to be all plastic, I tried removing the old unit, however it didn't come off as easily as i thought, do i just need more WD 40, or is there something else holding it place, like a bush? or may it just be corrosion?

thanks

Ruddy nighmare...I even bought a good wiper puller and all that did was squash the plastic! Tried WD40 for days and days just seemed to be putting pressure on the motor spindle. In the end I cut the plastic wiper off with hacksaw then with a spare blade very carefully cut the arm metal attachment ring of the wiper off the spindle. I bought a new arm, blade and cap. I used copper grease when putting the new arm on. One piece of advice if the cap comes of replace it asap as mine fell off and I left it for months hence it rusting and fusing on.

I have to say credit to the guys on this forum they rreally gave me lots of advice and encouragement!
