Basically guys ive read tons and tons of threads about this and theres no definate answer, people say turbos overpool and blow after decats, people say u will be fine,

so i thought id start a poll as im contemplating it so badly tomorrow, because atm i cant afford a miltek, basically im just after abit of extra grrr not bothered about power gains just a bit extra noise

opinions welcome anof car miles etcd please only fill in poll if uve had experiences, also if u do fill it note down length of time decat was on age

My car is on 135k orignal turbo and i had mine decatted a couple on months ago. - would highly reccomend it! I have had 0 problems with it and the car pulls much better and just keeps on pulling a lot higher up the rev range it also sounds wicked - the turbo is much louder :)

Just do it mate!

Is it remapped?

before i done the st3 conversion i had full blueflame de-cat on a remapped car...can honestly say i wouldnt av know it was on unless i knew..

If you're after some extra noise I'd recommend a K&N Apollo, it makes a nice deep growl. ;)

How much are they though. Cos a decat is just a £50 quick fix lol

Lol, where in Nottingham you getting a de-cat done for £50, is that for everything, fitted and the piece itself ? I've been contemplating with the idea!

Big city tyres. Thinks it's £60. But my mate works there

I had the fabia de-catted from about 6K miles 'till selling it at 34 K about 3 years later.the engine was BLT and std. IMO the noise was much better and I found the car pulled cleanly and smoothly higher up the rev range than the std car.

Whilst never 'abused' I would say whilst de-catted the car was used 'to its full potential' ie lapped the 'ring, a couple of 24 hour 'endurance' drives, time on the autobahn and I suffered no problems whatsoever.

Mine was a complete Miltek btw.

De-Cat on standard car or de-cat with map to suit is fine.

It's when the car is already mapped quite aggressively and then you add a de-cat is where the issues arise..

Kev

Mine has been remapped and is de-catted (full milltek turbo back system) and has been for approx 45k now with no problems

Wont you have to get the car mapped again???

That was my understanding too

I have clicked yes.
