iam occasionally having issues with the rear passenger door either not locking or unlocking, thought it could be water ingress but looks ok. The unit sometimes seems to struggle to open and makes a droning noise. Any ideas??????

mine did the same, took doorcard off, squirt of wd40 over the locking mech and rods and its been fine for 9months since

Mine did the same until it stoped unlocking all together, no water damage at all. Mine was stuck dead locked and I ended up getting a new lock (well second hand) and its working fine now. It is a lot easier to change the lock when the door still opens trust me!! lol

I'd fit a new unit rather than risk it, its a pain to get off when it gives up all together. Also if you carry rear seat occupants its a bit of a safety issue :wonder:

I have the same symptoms as the thread starter, but my problem is in wiring. About two years ago rear left door begun working improperly. I pulled the rubber tube out from door to see wiring between door and frame. One wire was broken. I welded the wire (should have fingers from Swiss clocksmith...) but already thought it wouldn't last long. No I think the same problem occured again, added with the door will not open at all!

If I remove battery cable, will the door open from inside handle? Is there a spare part for cable and can it be DIY replaced? And finally, how the heck could I get the cable out for replacing or to better welding position? If replacement is too pricy, I thought to use elastic wiring if possible.

Edit: Hooray! Now both front doors occasionally won't open with remote. Luckily key operates functional doors anf trunk. About the orginal problem, also power window is dead so I assume that power cable is cut to the left rear door.
