help! connects 2 ipod connection.

Featured Replies

hi all. Has anybody got any information on the best way to route the ipod cable from the back of the stereo without to much trouble and preferably not too ugly.

cheers tom

Hi and welcome to the site. :)

If you remove the glovebox (literally 6 botls), then you can pull the wire through from the back of the headunit. Then the wire can go through the little tab thing that's usually used for holding the glovebox false floor in the up right position. They say a picture says a thousand words:

Although this is useless if you need to access the iPod to control it I guess (not sure if you will).

I've fitted these into both mine and my mrs' vRS's. I went for the option of running the cable down the centre console and out into the little tray in front of the ashtray. I've then fitted an ipod / phone holder i got from Halfrauds into each car that is attached to the passenger side of the transmission tunnel so as to be able to connect the ipod/iPhone and still be able to control it etc... When not in use the cable just lays very un-noticeably in the little tray.

There's no removing of trim and no cutting of holes required for this one so it's easy to remove and leave no damage when it comes to selling the car on.

I can't get any pics at the mo but can post some up later if you like?

Cheers

Dave.

Just noticed from your profile you have a VW Golf and you have also asked about retro fitting cruise control to a Roomster. (No mention of a mk1 fabia). Just wanted to make sure the connects2 was being fitted in a mk1 Fabia as if not you've posted this in the wrong forum and any suggestions won't be much use to you.

Here ya go.......

The supplied cable is just long enough to go straight down below the HU and there's a little gap between the trim above the tray in front of the ashtray so as to feed the cable through. When not in use it sits neatly in the tray then when i want to connect one of our iPhones it reaches just nicely to the phone holder on the leftside.

Hope this helps

1. check that it's properly grounded.

2. fit a "big" capacity to on the live feed, but i've never heard of that being necessary. probably (1).

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to sound a bit of a noob .. I have just bought a 2006 Skoda Fabia VRS and want to get ipod connectivity and noticed this post on the forum.

Is anyone able to send a link to me for the Connect2 ipod system and also is it easy to fit?

1) Does it just connect into the back of the symphony cd unit?

2) Is it just one wire?

Any help appreciated, many thanks

Ryan
