Disgruntled Octy owner

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm new to this site so just finding my way round so I hope this is posted in the right place!

I've had my '05 Octy Elegance 2.0 tdi which has about 70k on the clock, for 5 months and its a super car except for one problem which I think other Briskodians may have experienced. I park the car facing slightly uphill and if I leave it for more than 2 days it is really difficult to start needing 4 or 5 sessions churning the engine over untill it eventually starts or the battery goes flat. The garage/car dealer has had it back and changed the fuel pipes suspecting an air leak and fitted an OE fuel filter - but to no avail. Skoda suggested replacing the relay which controls the injectors, as they had experienced proplems, so they did that but it's still the same! I have been told that there is a valve in the fuel return pipe which can fail causing fuel to drain back to the tank, but the garage disputes this. Now, to top it all, the turbo has developed a whining noise! Fortunately there is still a months warranty on it.

Hia. I realised my octy had a whine shortly after buying it. Bad news I'm afraid, the turbo went not long after. It was on 94k when bought/noticed it and it went at about 105k. I'm still pleased with it, despite £500 for a new turbo.

Thanks for the suggestion but the problem has occured when parked the other way round. I generally park it 'nose up' as it's easier and is less wearing on the clutch to drive in forwards.
