seriously mate, who cares about 0-60 times when it comes to real driving. its all pub talk. these cars are only FWD and lack a diff. for instance the focus RS with an additional 100hp and an LSd is only about a second quicker to 60. yet put them side by side at 30mph and the focus wil literally drive off

Adding more power will make traction off the line that little bit harder, but that's for traffic gran prix and no where else.

Where you will get massive gains are in the in gear acceleration times and the mid range/top end.

your 30-50 and 50-70mph times will be hugely reduced, and i mean hugely. the higher up the speed range and in the higher the gear, the bigger the gains you will notice.

A stage 1 remap is without doubt the best mod for anyone to start off with.

You don't want to be abusing your car to get quick 0-60s.

I managed to have a bit of a play with a vbox the other week and got some pretty good figures from my car with 3 adults on board and a full tank of fuel. 30-70 is comfortably under six seconds in that condition.

I have just got a Shark remap and I can certainly feel the difference.

TBH... I expected great things from the vRS after I stepped up from a 2L PD TDi with a revo remap, however, whilst not slow it didnt deliver as expected, that could be my driving style?? But now after just a few days with the remap, I have suprised myself with its acceleration and needing to be more alert :o . It feels as if its been unleashed :D .

So what are the times then guys? Come on! :D

Usually you will go from standard of 7.2 to around 6.8 ish. A general rule of thumb is for every increase of 50bhp its around 0.4-0.5 secs off. HOWEVER that also depends at how good you are at launching the car. 0-62 is no indication of a cars power. It's an indication of how good at Standing starts the cars driver is.

I have done some other Timing runs though which will be more beneficial for you.

REVO Stage 1

50 - 70mph in 6th = 6 secs (Standard is 7.8secs)

REVO Stage 2+

30 - 50mph = 1.6 secs (in 2nd gear only)

30 - 70mph = 4.1 secs (in 3rd gear only)

50 - 100mph = 7.7 secs (in 4th gear only)

50 - 100mph = 7.2 secs (in 3rd & 4th gear)

50 - 70mph = 5.2 secs (in 6th gear only)

These were all done using GPS & stop watch so not wholly accurate. But i had a passenger both times for verification purposes.
