Lambda Sensor - which one to buy?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I've a '00 Octavia 1.6 GLXi. I need to replace the lambda sensor, but when looking through the websites I'm not sure which one I need.

Can anyone tell me how I find out which of the below I need to get ? I'm not sure what the information in the brackets mean.

Octavia 1.6i 8v 100bhp AKL

(1U X 134 201 or lower) 6/1998 to 9/2000

Octavia 1.6i 8v 100bhp AKL

(1U X 134 202 or higher) 6/1998 to 9/2000

Thanks in Advance.

Although this thread seems dead, I will share one link. It's BOSCH online catalog where you can find part numbers for lambda sensors, MAFs and many other stuff of theirs. Just look up your car and browse the suitable parts

I had a topic about this some time ago, when I needed to buy a new lambda sensor.

If you want to save some money on a lambda, buy the Bosch sensor that is for Lada cars.

As it is considered as an Lada part, it's a lot cheaper than sensors for other cars. I don't remember the part number. You can find it on that topic.

Sensor will fit properly, but you will need to do some wiring (connect together 4 wires), because Lada sensor comes without the connector. But that's an easy job.

Have one on my Octy 1.8 20v and it works perfect. All lambda sensors do the same, no matter what car it is. Well, there is some differences sometimes, but that affects newer engines.

In your case, for a 1.6 engine it will do the job.

Cheers.
