Part number

Featured Replies

Rang my local unhelpful dealer earlier to order some parts for the Fabia, but got told the part number were incorrect.

Can someone confirm if these are the correct part numbers

1ML 805 903 - seat leon splitter

6Y0 862 531H 47H (Onyx RHD) - Fabia Dashboard Cup Holder

6Y0 857 231 B41 - fabia radio fascia

6Y0 858 332 47H - Fabia Dashboard Storage Draw

6LL 129 621 - PD160 Trumpet

6LL 129 618 - PD160 Pipe

Well, items 1,5 & 6 are surely Seat dealer items? Although they all operate from same software so should have found them

1 is deffo the LCR splitter

5 &6 are the PD160 bits

4 is the storage draw

2 is the cupholder

I can't find the fascia trim for the radio, but imagine with 5 right, you are correct with that one. There could be superceded parts for some of the items, but that would usually only mean there is an A or a B at the end, The principal part number doesn't change.

The local dealer parts department covers all makes within the VAG brand.

As long as the part number's are correct i will try them again tomorrow, guessing they were just trying to be unhelpful.

Parts departments can be very unwilling to sell you anything not listed to your registration plate.. At least, I've had a bad experience where I've had a rubber mat for the draw in beige, handed it to the guy and explained it's from the draw and I need it in black or grey, whichever they could get and even handed him the part number that I'd got from VAGCAT as well as the beige matt.... He asked for my reg plate, and ordered it.

I went back a week later, picked up the part and it was for the cubby, not the draw.. then battled to get a refund as "That's the one for your car, Sir".. I did eventually get the money back as I reminded him I had HANDED him the part and number and explained it was from an Elegance draw I had put in..

After that, he initially refused to quote me a price on a couple of other part numbers.. he asked "Are they from a different spec car?" to which I answered yes.. and he said "Then i'm not going to sell them to you.." so I said it back to him.. "Your not going to sell me them,.... seriously?" I wasn't angry.. just surprised.. I think I'd upset him by standing my ground on the rubber matt refund. He did eventually quote me on the part numbers after I re assured him that if he ordered them and the were wrong, but they WERE the specific parts I'd asked for I wouldn't ask for a refund. Like it was all my fault or something? He ordered the wrong part in the 1st place!,... sigh... the price was high so didn't order anyway.. but be sure whoever you buy through understands it's a mod and not a replacement part for your car, or you might end up with another cubby!

He's alright really.. but I feel I have to fully explain everything to him now, rather then just give him a number. Think he's just one of those grumpy people.
