After getting a couple of 225/45/17 Primacy HP last week at £108 each, a colleague said she'd got a pair of similarly sized tyres for £110 the pair. A cheaper brand no doubt.

But when I checked the prices of my size again, even on line (Black Circles, My tyres, Pneus etc), my tyres were coming out at £170 plus each. And they now seem to have much higher load indices than the 91 mine requires.

What's going on?

Agreed, but the others have risen and mine is via a local firm- fitted.

That said, rubber prices are going up at the moment and every major brand has announced a price increase.

I've just bought 4 pilot sport 3's (225/45/17) at £117 each fitted which i was quite pleased with. I got them from the the Cosco Michelin tyre centre which i believe are dotted all over the uk.
