how about the start of november ? gives every one a lil time to get the money together

We had a RR day at AmD back in June and it was an awesome day.

I know that AmD usually put aside sundays for club RR days. Have you contacted Shaun at AmD for potential availability???

Good luck.

There are quite a few Kent, London & Essex based members on here, so I'm sure that this thread will take off big time when you have some potential dates.

cheers for trying to get an event started

The start of november is bonfire weekend and ill be busy soo if you make it later i can go if not good luck everyone i wanna see you read outs!!

Dannyboi. Hows it going mate?

Gareth 1.8T told me you were getting an event underway.

I hope Mrs Dannyboi is the understanding type :D

( How many times did your phone ring when we met??? )

This may take up a lot more of your time than you think.

Hope your Octy's behaving itself

Be ready for lots of PMs and communication with members as well as keeping a

close eye on the thread and the list as it forms. I was checking in every 3 or so hours

during waking hours as the date of mine grew closer.

Freedom membership allows more PM space which you may well need

when you're staying in touch with lots of people all at once.

In the end 35 cars ran on my RR day  But more attended.

A few people came a ruddy long way too

I'd allow at least month until the event so that interest in it can gain momentum

and allow the list the time to build gradually. It also gives monthly paid people opportunity

to allocate funds in these difficult times...

Shaun at AMD is a nice fella and is very easy to deal with but

drop him a proper email and get the event confirmed in writing etc.

He's also a member on here but I don't know how often he looks in.

It's handy as he can comment directly in your thread if need be.

You have to keep things official and businesslike if you expect people to commit

to the event. With that in mind, to make the event and the thread "proper" and

to get the event recognised by the site and put on the calendar etc there are a

few guidelines to stick to... Found here ----> http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/47677-non-staff-organised-briskoda-group-buybuy-rulesregulations/

Whilst I appreciate that it's primarily a meet it still counts as if it were a group buy

because it involves people spending their pennies.

In that respect you must cover your butt with plenty of disclaimers etc.

Any moderator can help you do things within the rules if you're not sure.

If I can be any help mate drop me a PM.

Good luck with the event, I'll come but I can't run.

Big money worries at the moment :(

AMD get each person to sign a disclaimer before running anyway mate

That's really an agreement between the runner and AMD. Shaun was flitting around with

his laptop checking this and that on peoples cars when needed before and after the runs...

I'd be up for coming down mate. Not sure if I would run tho. Always a good day down at AMD, was a great event last time Garry :)

theres a jkm one on 13th nov but its local to me at amd so long as it dont clash with that im in

I'd be up for this, only a quick run over the bridge!

Not sure if I would run tho.

wuss! :p

wuss! :p

haha - I probably would, give into all the peer pressure! :p

Definately depends on date as I would like to bring the new vRS along to see what it comes out at in real life.

Bad news is i am not due to take keys till approx 3rd Dec & that date can still move.

Hopefully I can make it

Any further on this yet? If any help is needed just give me a shout.

  • 2 weeks later...

we have our local vag meet have arranged one for the end of november so if it does happen then i would prob show my face an my car but not rr.

its getting a second rr this yr lol see if i have loosed it up a little with my driving skills hahah

I'd be up for it. :)

Any update on this???

Maybe we should arrange something to make it more concrete. :)

I'd be willing to help get the ball rolling? Don't want to tread on anybody's toes?

I might come to this, if only to see Sunroof's car shred the rollers now that his driving skills have 'loosened the car up' :wonder: :giggle::rofl::giggle::rofl:

Thanks Phil, that was just the laugh I needed to brighten this gloomy old day!
