New to Skoda, and I love it.

Featured Replies

Hi there. I've bought a Fabia Classic 1.4 about 6 months ago, and I must admit, I love it. A Couple of weeks ago a warning light came on, it was the coolant light, there was three warning beeps followed by the light on the dash flashing. I checked the coolant level but it was fine, my wife then took it to Simpson's garage (Skoda dealer) but they couldn't find anything wrong. Every time time you start the car, within 30 seconds the three beeps and light come on. Now I'm no mechanic but am I right in thinking that there is a sensor in the coolant tank, the reason I say this is that I by-passed the plug in thing to the bottle with a piece of wire and the warning beeps and light didn't come on. Any sort of help would be most welcome. Many thanks. Neil. ;)

Hi and welcome aboard.

Sensor in the coolant bottle is a common issue, and is easily fixed. Basically, remove the sensor and rub the contacts with a screwdriver or simillar and put back in. Replace lost coolant and jobs a gooden.
