Wing mirror go bye bye

Featured Replies

Yesterday morning a small truck clipped the drivers side window on my 04 black Fabia vrs. It still heats and moves around quite happily, it's just the forward facing plastic that's been totalled. Is it an easy job to get hold of a replacment bit o plastic and fit it myself?

Thanks!

Do you mean the painted frontal shroud?

if it has damaged the main body then it can be expensive.

Speak to LFC958 he has to replace his cause some nice person rearranged his.

Easier to give a picture than describe it (attached) - had to wait until the weekend for some daylight I wasn't working during!

I'll PM LFC958, see if he can help me.

Thanks.

Having taken some advice from LFC958 I think I'll let Skoda sort it out when the car has it's first service ~end of feb. Unless it's going to be a problem having the innards exposed until then?

Wont make any difference like that, as the glass isnt sealed to the painted body anyway.

I would have taken the same action, let my dealer get it sorted. Perhaps, if you have a chat with them prior to your service they may be able to pre-paint it before the car goes in to them.

Would a set of chrome wingmirror covers mask it enough? I don't even know if they do those types of covers though. :o

you have slightly exposed electrics, cover the exposed area with plastic bag & duct tape. This should keep the water away from the inside electrics & reduce water intake risk.
