Picked up my new car

Featured Replies

Well I'm happy to say I am now the proud owner of a race blue vrs.

Even happier to see I managed 44 mpg on the run home... Ok I was taking it easy on the motorway but still impressed for a tight new engine.

Looking forward to being able to give it some beans.

Nice one mate. I take it its a CR?

When did you order the car?

race blue petrol with a fair few options.

I think it took about 13 weeks, which tbh i am quite happy about having heard about what some people are being quoted.

I'm guessing the petrol ones are maybe easier to get hold of, although it was built to order due to the options selected.

Wow 44 mpg is good, best ive seen is 41mpg. :)

Road works and traffic meant i was probably doing 50 - 70 most of the time.... which helps

Congrats JSC77, although you are making me more impatient for mine ;)

I've only seen 44 mpg when a large part of the journey in question is spent in the Average Speed Camera 50 mph sections on the M1.

Averaging just over 30 overall - too much town driving (SWMBO) and giving it the beans (me).

JSC77, enjoy your new car! The TSI 2 litre is a fantastic engine!!

If that reading is from the car display, sorry to squash your joy ,but these readings are a bit optimistic, emoticon-0106-crying.gif Thogh not as optimistic as the outrageous manufacturers claims. emoticon-0149-no.gif

Only way to get a true mpg is to do tank to tank fill noting miles travelled.

Though that should still give you just into the 40 mpg, which is still v good for a new petrol.

Well i certainly take 40... dont remenber ever getting over 34 in my R26....... 'alkip' hope yours turn up soon, it is worth the wait.

Although i have to say it perhaps even harder waiting for those first 1500 miles to tick over to run it in

congrats on the new car! the tsi is a stonking engine i love mine.

Have a search on here about running in, i behaved in mine for about the first 600-700 miles and it was drinking oil.. was begining to think it was going to cost me an arm and a leg as it was becoming a bottom to top of the dip stick top up once a week!!! then read something on here and started to give it a bit of welly here and there and its never used a drop since.
