Brimma is pleased to announce a new arrival

Featured Replies

Yeah but does it actually red line there, or is it just the case of an old rev counter.

a CR engine should rev to 5K regardless of the rev counter :)

Well I know for a fact that a DSG car in "S" will go right to the redline (having owned one previously)

The test would be for Brimma to put it into S and gun it and see when it changes up.

Tested on the way home last night, car changes up between 4500 and 4800 depending on the gear you're in, this is true for both manual and S modes...

Was your DSG petrol? As it appears the CR DSG won't go all the way to the 5K red line

Oh indeed, I applaud the Maxidot installation, and I would hate to detract from that just to be a smart arse and point out that about 50mm of red stuff shouldn't be on his dial.

I was just curious :)

EDIT: Green warning light is on all DSG cars (and probably automatics?) Means you need to apply brake so you can move car out of Park.

Unless there's a free set of Calitos going, leave them well alone, you've said yourself those wheels are gorgeous! You'll not improve the way that car looks any more, you've got it just about perfect as it is

Mike

Kind words indeed Mike, but these will make it a little closer to perfection (I'm talking about the wheels in the foreground).....

what colour have you ordered?

They look awesome in the gunmetal against the right colour car.. i looked at these when i was buying my vrs back in february. even got as far as photoshopping a set on to a white estate. couldn't justify the cash in the end..

I've tried black and I've tried anthracite, and I'm now convinced that silver look best against a black car

TBH I'm torn between the 18" and 19" versions due to the risk of kerbing, but as they are 8.5J and I'm going to run 225 tyres slightly stretched, I'm going to lose any rim protection from the tyre regardless

Let's all pray I can keep away from them :)

Nice. And you're right about silver against black IMO

I'd go 18s and 235/40/18 on an 8.5J.

I would go for 235s, but I've seen a few comments on here to say that you run the risk of rubbing with 235s :|

What offset are these ones? Maybe worth double-checking on any rubbing reports (I've not spotted any) and see what width wheel and offset were in use.

New ones are ET45 - current ones are 8J ET48 and the fronts have 3mm spacers to clear the brakes

I know Ben and Harry have got 19s with 235 tyres, but I'm not sure of their clearances
