Fitting cruise

Featured Replies

Have all the bits now and am prepared to strip to fit in the half term, has anyone got a picture of the location of the vehicle electrical system control unit to which the brown plug fits, thanks.

Its located behing the dashboard mate.Around the clocks somewhere and needs the dashboard removing i believe! Its a bitch to get to apparently aswell.I fitted cruise and ran a wire through the bulkhead to the ecu instead as described in this write up.

actually i think the brown plug connects to the unit located under the steering wheel just above the accel pedal area but can only be done when all the shrouding is off.

I have cruise ready to be fitted to my car too.

What I'm wondering is that looking at the guide there is a lot of wire snipping/joining going on. Does the Skoda loom I have supplied with the stalk not enable a plug and play (so to speak) arrangement?

Or you have to use the loom supplied and cut and solder other wires too?

when i did mine all i changed was the break switch wiring by pulling a wire out and adding it to the cruise loom and putting a wire from the cruise loom to the break switch, and the wire to the ecu instead of the t11a unit

just had a look at the instructions from my unit so.............

xs3 unit is under the dash above the accel pedal and the T6y connector should plug straight in to the 3rd connections down from the top

t11a is a pain to do so cut, join and extend to the solid white wire in the bottom connector of the ecu in the engine bay.solder and heatshrink is best

T10g will plug into the cruise stalk

T4d, needs the blue/red wire removing from the brake switch and pushing into the connector supplied then the blue/black wire goes into the space the other wire has come out of.

hope this helps. Oh and im sure youll already know this but the cruise will need activating via vagcom aswell to work.

Thanks for that

Still unsure if I will do this myself yet, car is due to go in and have it done, but I don't have a slot booked and he was going to try and fit me in around other jobs.

Other half of me is saying - just do it yourself!!

I don't suppose you could scan the diagram sheet with the wiring etc on it could you? I can't seem to find the ones supplied.

Cheers.
