I bhave a 2002 octavia automatic diesel estate and the gear lever keeps sticking in park. When i hold it between drive and nuetral and turn the key then all is ok. Any ideas.

I am currently in spain and want to know if i can get back to uk ok. Many thanks

I'm not sure on your query but sure someone will be able to help.

Do you have your foot on the brake when you try and move the gearstick? I remember my dad initially got caught out on that one when he had a Polo auto. It wouldn't start or come out of park until the footbrake was on and once, when the brake switch failed he got completely stranded...

It'll either be the brake switch or the solenoid that locks it in P.
