Pbox

Featured Replies

While I was in my local dealership, I spotted a leaflet for a tuning company called Pbox. It's a traditional-looking tuning box, but interestingly they offer not only a warranty on the box itself, but also warrant the engine, gearbox and transmission up to the existing manufacturers warranty. So, you could buy a brand new car, stick in a Pbox and (in theory) your drivetrain would be covered for 3 years.

It's not cheap, at about

Pretty conservative remaps , but thats obviously done to minimise the chances of warranty claims.

Like you say , very good for people wanting a bit more go and not wanting to jeapordise their factory warranty

the problem with these type of units is that they just increase the fueling, they don't increase boost levels so you normally get some black smoke, and no were near as much power as a re-map/chip

How do you actually control boost? I thought it was just a result of more fuel creating more exhaust gases so the turbo spins faster, which results in higher boost .... but then again, what do I know about engines ... not a lot by the sounds of it!!!
