rear internal light?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever fitted an internal light in the rear roof lining in a vrs and if so how do you do it??, as at night its hard to see if my new born is ok?? ;)

Rob has fitted them into the area above the grab handles on this vrs. I'll see if I can find the link.

Update:

Link to Rob's site.

I fitted mine to come on with the front interior lights when door is open. The rear lights are standard fitment in the Laurin and ambiente models. you can buy the rear lights on ebay

Elegance and L&K, I believe.

My Elegance has them and it is a trim level up from Ambiente. Only mentioning it incase someone goes looking for them in a scrap yard...

Mine seem to operate only if I switch them on - they are not linked to any door opening/closings.

I'm finding them much more useful now we have a baby to get in and out

I used the one's you show in the second link. THese have a (3 way) switch built in to the lens, and take 3 connections - live, earth and switched earth.

I connected these lights in parellel with the front unit and now have the ability to to have them on, on with the door or off.

The only thing I'm not keen on is that if I use the switch to turn on the front light, i'd like the rears to turn on, but this doesn't happen

You are correct there buddy.

That also how the lights operate when fitted from the factory , but i preferred to have them come open with teh doors open so wired it that way. But I also want both options now.
