Urgent help needed.....(vRS)

Featured Replies

I've got a problem with my vRS this morning, I start it up and it revs up fine then suddenly the revs drop erratically the car then shakes as I can hear the exhaust rattling away around the front pipe area and then it conks out, now if I try revving it up when it does this nothing happens, any ideas???? now I'm supposed to be taking it back to the garage today for them to sort the car out but its never done this before :( in the last week its had a full set of decent quality coils, new plugs and the throttle body cleaned out.

Strangely the car is running perfectly again, it was the first cold start of the day that it didn't like, but don't know what caused it.

I've got the same codes as before 17705 plus running rich and lean codes and also one to do with air flow, although I tried unplugging the MAF but couldn't notice a difference.

clear them then drive and see what u get? then go from there

give all the hoses a good going over ie boost/vac/breather to check for splits and or leaks

I took it back to the garage again today so will see what they come back with, at the min if you drive it quickly giving it revs its fine, but if you drive it gently and mainly around 2k rpm it really hesitates when you try to accelerate, throttle body has been cleaned, coil pack and plugs replaced, MAF is no different plugged in or unplugged, when driving on boost it seems to work as it should, its odd lol.

MAF is no different plugged in or unplugged

Call me stupid, but maybe the MAF is faulty ?

Hi stupid (well you did ask). If unplugging the MAF makes no difference then I would go with you on it being faulty.
