front pressed plate got ripped off the car last night while i was in work :( went looking for it afterwards but no luck, i put on facebook if anyone seen it lying about town to let me know, and a friend who was out last night said they seen it up a street i hadnt been and said they seen it but didnt realise it was mine so someone took it for the fun and threw it away, new ones gonna be like £25 rage!!

so getting numberplate recess handles and bump strips colour coded on monday i think.

Edited by Scott Howie

IMO remove the bump strips, I regret getting mine colour coded and now I'm just removing them. I also don't think the plastic recess would look very good colour coded personally.

yeh well its all getting done at my bros work for like £15 thats to black magic paint coded. ive seen the recess done and it does look good, also as for bump strips i will get them painted and decided what i think when there off.

When removing mine they bent and just looked **** so I bought new ones that came to like £36 which was annoying.

yeh i best be careful removing them, i will try not pull on them at all and try pull them away and using something like thread or string to peel them away

ok, all 4 handles and door mouldings away for painting, number plate recess will be removed tonight and painted tomorrow as its a bumper off job, and due to the weather it just hasnt been ideal to get it removed.....

the bumpstrips are textured so the guy said a little more work is needed to smoothe them down so for everything im paying £25 painted skoda black magic metalic.....awesome price!!

Looking good Scott, could do with tinting the fogs to finish it off

yeh might do mate, yellow lamin-x or flyeyes?

The flyeyes would finish it off if you were going for a purely stealth look but yellow lamin-x would look pretty sweet tbh

ok so started machine polishing the beast about 3 days ago, managed to get the bonnet tailgate, back bumper and roof done. so today i tackled the sides and front bumper. method. wash, dry, menzerna intensive polish, menzerna final finish, poor boys black hole glaze and finally autoglym HD wax. enjoy.

decided scene as it was a nice day and i had blitzed the car to an inch of its life, to nip to the local auto store and buy some paint to jazz up the engine bay. process was : rub down with various wet and dry cant remember what grits i think it was 300, 450, 800, 1200 anyways. then rinced them down and dried, then a good few coats of primer, then paint (another 6-7 coats) then laquer (2 coats i think i done). Now i am by no means a professional painter, but they turned out pretty well, a few bits could be better but owell, im chuffed enough.
