Noisy door trim

Featured Replies

HI Newbie here

Have had my oct vrs 08 estate 10 days now really pleased with it although i have an annoying problem, I have an annoying cabin scuttle coming from rear near side door the trim seems fine no loose panel fit but when ever you hit any slightly unsmooth tarmac it sounds like someone is rolling across the back seat a squeaky leather sound. The car had tints fitted before collection so someone has had trim off recently, any help on how to remove rear trim or has anyone else experienced this type of problem ?

Any help would be appreciated i really love this car but this issue is really annoying

Make sure its not the back seats, theres a known squeak / rattle where the vertical section of the seat clips back at the top, Does the noise stop with someone sitting in the back , If yes its probably seat related.

Some doors are also known to appear to have a squeaky rattle when the door needs adjusting. Weve just had this on a new Scout, convinced it was a rattle inside a rear door but the door just needed adjusting to make it shut tighter

You could try complaining to your dealer or Skoda UK customer care. I had the same problem on my June 2008 car and started to complain about it when the car was 6 months old. Even though the dealer and Skoda UK said they were not aware of a problem there were quite a number of owners on this forum that have experienced the same thing.

After several visits and much complaining I eventually had the seals replaced under warranty and the problem has not returned since (about 18 months now).

If you are considering going to the dealer I wouldn't mention that you've tried anything yourself to try and remedy it, as one dealer told me that I'd invalidated the warranty by putting some silicon grease on them, even though this was after they had agreed to replace them and I was awaiting delivery of the parts. I took it to another dealer who attempted to cure it by applying silicon grease to them!!!

It seems that it affects cars made around June 2008, and one dealer told me it was worse on estates.
