MFD2 CD Version Issues

I bought a 2007 vRS which has a MFD2 sat nav unit fitted and 6 disc changer in the boot. One issue I have is pausing or stopping CD's from playing both in the changer or directly in the headunit. There are no buttons for pause or stop and having pressed all menu buttons I can think of I cannot see any way to stop a CD from playing other than selecting the Radio or switching the unit off. Am I missing something really obvious? The steering wheel does not have any multifunction controls.
