Tow bar RS Estate

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am going back racing and need a tow bar . Where is the cheapest place online that I can pick an ok looking one up?

Any Ideas ?

from what I understand from the local dealer the rear crashbar has to be replaced to fit the towbar (I could have mis-understood that though). Do a wee search as a few members on here have gone aftermarket jobs.

Thanks a mill, I did search but cant find any topics for the rs estate. Any suggestions?

RS should be the same as the rest of the range albeit the difference in the bumper.

might be worth a quick read of that. Using the search norrow it down with the advance features to just look in the Octavia II section with key words like TOWBAR and ELECTRICS might bring a few more up.

Your local Skoda dealer will do it for around the £600-800 mark due to labour costs (UK prices). Third party will see that drop to around the £400 mark

Thanks

Mick

My 2010 Octavia is a hatch The fitter hat to unbolt the crash bar at the back. the tow bar then fits onto the mountings that held the crash bar. He gave me the crash to bar to store as if I remove the tow bar then i have to refit the crash bar.

I don't know which area you live in but I got mine fitted by Hedleys . it is a Witter detachable but the the price fitted was less than the prices quoted on the Witter site. The fitter did an excellent job. some where on one of the sites is the fitting instructions if you want to fit one yourself.

Try

http://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/towbars/findTowbar1.php

Or http://www.hedley-towbars.co.uk/TOWBAR.html

It is the Hedley site that has the fitting instructions. Enter your car details and you can view / download a PDF of the fitting instructions.

whereabouts are you based? I am having a towbar fitted to my VRS estate on saturday. I rang around my local trailer people and indespension was the most expensive at £540 fitted. My local firm in swansea are charging £390. I did ask Skoda but it was over £900 so didnt bother with that!

Yes, so its £390 for mine and it will be a westafaila detachable one. In in the Swansea area.

Towbar fitted today. They have donw a brilliant job and when its not in situe, you dont notice that its got a tow bar at all. Even if you crouch down to look, you cant see anything. The bumper didnt need any cutting either. Very happy with it. :D
