Skoda Superb Felicity Interior

Featured Replies

Hi Briskodians

Gotta ask you question.

When i ordered my new cartoy, i wanted the leather trim, but my girlfriend confronted me with the consequences of that choice. That is, that "we have to let some animals go".

With that in mind and my constant thriving for peace in the household i settled for the felicity interior.

And here comes the question. Does the felicity interior feel like luxury (allthough not leather) or does it feel like it has been ripped out from a Ford Ka?

My dealer didn't have a felicity equipped car in when i ordered it, so i really have no clue.

Btw... Enjoying my Green Peace member of the year award :p

Hello Tom,

Not being immediately familiar with the Felicity interior you mentioned I had a look at the Superb brochure on the Skoda Denmark website.

I don't think you will be too disappointed with this type of trim. It looks a lot like the good quality trim we have in our Fabia 3 (the luxury model in the UK before they rebadged it as the Fabia Elegance).

If that is the case you will find it comfortable and certainly a lot easier to sit on than leather when you get in on a cold winter morning!

One thing we've noticed is the material does attract pet hairs so watch out for that.

It looks classy though so enjoy!

Mark.

PS: please post some pictures when it arrives.

I have a suggestion, why not get the leather and place a cover over the seat with the animal(dog?). We did this in our last car and never had a problem. It wasn't even a special cover it was just something we had hanging around (sheet like). When the dog wasn't with us we had it in the trunk. Leather attracts less dog hairs. The leather/Alacantra combo does not get cold or hot depending upon weatrher and it looks great

Good suggestion, but in this case I think he was not choosing the leather because his girlfriend does not like that innocent cows get killed just for us to have something to sit on.

Personally I dont like the leather. I have chosen felicity on my car (on order). What I have seen from demo cars, the quality of this interior is just as good as in my current Audi A4 2009. (or even better...)

seeing you are from Sweden I suggest "mink" seats- LOL (that is a swede thing, I doubt you Brits understand this). I do hope she is kind to people too!

Cows are good for eating; if you are in Sthm and neither of you are vegans try the Texas Steak House.

I don't believe the seats are made from cows that are not being cunsumed so IMHO its better to use the skins than throw them out.

The most important factor is that you and your mate didn't like the Leather!

LOL! Nice and cosy in the winter! :)

I also belive that the skins are from meat cows, but hey, some people dont like that either!

My disslinking of leather seats is because i dont like the looks. But "Smaken är som baken! Delad!" , as we say in sweden.

Im in stockholm, newer been to Texas Steakhouse, but frequently visits Texas Longhorn, maybe its the same? They have great food!

I think this loses something in the translation. Google suggests it means 'one man's meat shared' ! :D

I suspect it should mean something like one mans poison is another mans meat, or, each to their own ?

Please don't take offence, I'm sure there will be English phrases which sound funny translated into Swedish :)

:) Google translate is funny!

The direct translation is "The taste is like the ass! Divided!" :)

So the meaning is the same as one mans poison is another mans meat, so google translate almost gets it right!

Experiences with Felicity Ivory?

We are still heavily in doubt whether we shall choose the Felicity interior in Ivory or Black (onyx) . The Ivory version looks so much better, but what about staining? Does anybody regret choosing the black or ivory version of the Felicity interior? If you had to make the choice again today, which one would you choose, and why?

I've had ivory interior on one car before (a VW Golf) - very nice to look at, but hopeless to keep clean. Every stain shows! So, I would not choose ivory if I were you.

I got my Superb with Felicity black interior a week ago, and is very happy with the quality and feel of the fabric. It does NOT look like it comes from a Ford KA (as was suggested earlier in this thread).

I have the cloth trim in my Superb Greenline I (09 Model). It is great - hard wearing, comfortable. My wife really liked the leather in the Yeti we drove and we had it in our last Octavia, but don't overly miss it - it can be too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter (before the seat heaters warm it...).

I would think the Ivory trim would stain easily - I have 2 small girls and they have thrown all sorts at the back seat and so far the baby dyson has coped - not so the front seats. Apparently mum and dad have managed to leave suspicious white stains on drivers and passenger seat, with no apparent culprit. I have scrubbed it with upholstery cleaner and it is as if we have spilt a latte all over the seat (I swear I didn't and of course, my wife does too).

So, the Yeti will be leather for better stain resilience.

For what it's worth, my opinion is that the cows are dying anyway - why not use them to the maximum, rather than it go to waste? And does she not wear leather shoes? Or eat meat? One car trimmed in cloth will not save a cow!!

Sorry - I think I lost my own point - the black cloth can stain as badly as the ivory, but generally you notice dirt less.
