Just had this for the second time on my 6 year old octy - the last time was about 3 years ago

Interesting, we have this and the only issue other that we have is to do the cam belt and pump because i forgot to get this concession from the dealer. :doh:

cheers for the reply was just making sure that was the correct thing to do ,

I get mine on cold damp days (such as this morning) always go with a restart though. Dodgy connection give it a clean should solve it. If you do a search there is something you can used which is meant to stop it some sort of lube...........but off the top of my head I cant remember what its called.

The sensor prongs cannot be got at in later expansion tanks, If you can't see them with the cap off, new bottle required. Only £14

had this on an octavia and the wifes fabia VRS,

replacing the temp sensor in the thermostat housing is the fix

yeah cant see in the tank in my vrs, looks like i will need a new one,

ill give the above a try first and go from there,
