Central Locking Malfunction

Featured Replies

hi all,

my gf's Fabia vRS locking system has gone mad. she came in from work last nite and locked her car. the weather was terrible so we never went back out. just when we were going to bed i looked outside to find her window was down(or not there) i rushed out thinking someone had broken into it. when i go outside i noticed the interior light was on and i could hear the central locking clicking constantly. i started the car and put up the 2 front windows and locked the car. all seemed well untill about 60sec later the car unlocked itself and the two front windows went down. ideal in this recent weather

so the result is the car has had to stay open all nite and we tried to cover the windows with bags tp stop water getting in.

car is in dealers on monday. any ideas what might be the cause?

That sounds a strange one - hope you get it sorted soon.

Been mentioned before methinks.

Dodgy control unit perhaps ?

Perhaps one of our resident techies could confirm if removing fuses for the Central locking & windows might help ?

bad luck with us no doubt as i had a central locking control unit failure but was causing different probs to this

I have had the exact same fault on a Fabia elegance not long ago. Im pretty sure i changed the central locking ECU and the o/s door control unit and it was fine after that.

Hi Kenny,

What was the end result with this fault, my Vrs has started doing the exact same thing this morning.

Windows constantly going down, central locking clicking away, unable to get and control from the remote.

Just about to remove fuse 49 to keep the windows up as its lashing down with rain :(
