Badge paint is flaking off!

Featured Replies

Just been out and hand washed my 7 week old Fabia vRS, and noticed that the Green paint is flaking off the tailgate badge! Not a big problem, but it looks tatty in my opinion.

My question is, does anyone know how this badge is fixed to the bodywork? If it's not rivetted, or screwed through the bodywork from the inside (i.e. there are no holes) , then I'd like to remove it altogether. I know the "FABIA" insignia just above it is glued on as I've already had that removed, is the vRS badge attached by the same means? Thanks

I believe its just glued on - the strong fishing line sawing technique should get it off, but don't know about reapplying it.

It's just stuck on, I took mine off and moved it up a notch :D

Surely a warranty issue - as in you shouldn't have to pay for the replacement.

Failing that some Humbrol paint for your local friendly model shop?

208 'Signal Green' looks like a good match or it may be more of an 03 Brunswick Green.

Thanks for all your replies. I've now removed the badge altogether, and after closer inspection it's really just a piece of 'al plastic tat. The Green paint can very easily be scraped off the chrome plating, I can't quite believe that these cost
