Taking delivery of your new car - what to check for.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I haven't found a thread on this so far, and thought it might even make for a worthwhile sticky.

Before signing off all the paperwork at the dealer, what should a buyer be looking for on their new car to prevent any obvious future problems? Is there anything specific to the Superb II worth looking out for?

Not everyone has prior experience of owning a car from new (like me), and not all problems might be obvious on a cursory inspection. Some dealers may be more unscrupulous than others, and this thread may help the unwary to avoid any common pitfalls.

Thanks.

Try this link - (click here) you should find all the info you need.

Hope this helps.

If your specification includes the Columbus head unit, ensure that you've got the navigation DVD, even though it's pre-loaded on the unit itself.

Check to see that the downlighters work in the mirrors when you open the doors. If they don't, it's an indication that the lights haven't been reset from their "transport" mode.
