New Elegance - DRLs ?

Featured Replies

Looking at ordering a 1.2 tsi 85hp for my step-mum, as a replacement for her 3 year old Fabia.

In the Elegance spec, you get fogs as standard. Do these come with Daytime Running Lights ?

All new cars from 7th Feb 2011 need them by law. All new Octys delivered now should have them fitted at the factory, just make sure dealer activates them. Mind you if you order now delivery likely to be Feb in any case so they will be fitted by law.

Thanks - I have them already on my Yeti.

Looking at an elegance in the showroom it seemed to have "extra" bulbs in the foglight cluster - but the dealer was unsure as to whether they were standard ?

Hi,

yes DRL's form part of the fog light; the outer bulb.

Switch for DRLs is in the fuse box....if they arent working.

As above, the DRLs don`t come switched on from the factory and some dealers don`t even seem to know they exist.

It`s in the manual, (page 68?), just pop the cover off the fuse box towards the bottom of the dashboard on the drivers side (near the door) and there will be a switch infornt of all the fuses - flick it on and you have DRLs. They turn off automatically when you switch your sidelights on I believe.

ive got the sport model 10 plate and just got sume day time running lights to day and it says on the box in front of me

lights will beilluminated as soon as the engine is switched on but will extinguish them once the vehicle sidelights are

turned on so this might be the same as the cars

I ordered the Estate version (1.2 TSI DSG) in Elegance spec (31 August), and the dealer informed me that they come with DRL's but as stated previously they have to be switched on in the fusebox.

Many thanks all - deal done today.

They were not on as default, so asked them to enable as part of the PDI.

Which brings me on to... can Auto-Locking be set on the Elegance (i.e. locks above 10kph or so, unlocks then you remove ignition key ?) ?

yes you can apparently if you have the maxi-dot computer you can do several things in the security set -up,the doors opening combination all or just the drivers door to open,I am pretty sure you can disable or enable the 10k locking system as well.
