Tyre pressures for 225/45/17's

Featured Replies

I have put mine to 36 front/34 rear. Felt okay today, does anyone recommend anything else?

Thanks in advance.

Not really very wise from a handling point of view, but in the warm weather I had mine closer to 40. Less rolling resistance = more fuel economy emoticon-0148-yes.gif

However now it's wet (soon to be icy too) I've let them come down a bit. Your figures are about right, except I would reverse the front and rear. Since the rears are only trailing on our cars they can afford to be harder. However, have your fronts too hard and you'll probably be more likely to under steer, more so in adverse weather.

From the brief time i ran 225 Goodyear's. F33... R36

Thanks for replies. Will try some of the above and see how i get on. When i was on the Subaru scene i tried many tyre profiles from OE 50's to 35 profile on my P1 with 18 inch Prodrive alloys. Less profile and more width gave me better turn in and more grip, only downside i encountered was ride quality. The Vrs does have a firm ride but its never as intrusive as the P1 was, so i find the 225/45/17's spot on imho.
