Hi,

Currently I'm pootling around in a rather large long wheel base shogun with a rather large engine, however she is getting on a bit, and though I love her dearly she is a little too thirsty for the current state of my wallet. I never thought I'd say this, but over the last couple of days the octavia estate has rather grabbed my fancy for no explicable reason. I was looking about at toyota hiluxs and then bmw estates, but everything either blows my budget out of the water on buying the vehicle or insuring the da mn thing.

What sort of mpg could I expect out of the various different Octavia estates (has to be an estate). Its got to be better than the 21 or less mpg I get at present!

Welcome. If you get the 1.9 T Diesel you should manage about 55-60 mpg :)

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to Briskoda

Hi and welcome.

Interestingly, I have just traded in my Shogun Sport for the same reasons as you.

Like you, I wanted an estate and after looking long and hard I decided on a 1.9tdI Elegance. it is a dream to drive and the build quality seems top notch. .

My insurance company have quoted me £215 for fully comp which I think is quite good. Also, if you go for the 1.9TDI, road tax is only £90.

If you do decide to trade-in the Shogun I suggest you shop around until you find someone who is prepared to pay the true market value. I had some silly offers from dealers but eventually found someone who was prepared to pay the true market value against the Skoda.

Hi and welcome, you should definatly see an improvement in fuel economy emoticon-0148-yes.gif
