alright lads. getting me fabia serviced by servicingstop.co.uk tomorrow they will come at 8 in morning take me car to driffield east yorkshire (i live in hull 25 miles away) for a full service and they say i will have it back betwwen 4 and 6pm the same day, the reason im posting this is because iv broken my leg and cant drive (obviously) and just wondered if anyone has used this service before as im a bit weary when some bugger else is driving me car away. luckily a friend of mine uses the same garage that mines going to in driffield (DB autotech) and tells me its a good garage (phew!!) im just a bit worried incase some chav turns up on me doorstep and starts talking to me like hes just had a stroke and then rolls me car into a ditch. anyone had any experience with servicingstop? i will post back tomorrow and let you know what they're like.

If it were me, and this maybe paranoia, but I'd try and get the engine warmed up before they get it, maybe leave it idling for a few minutes before they get there?

Not used them, But seen the advert on telly!

Its says in the text at the bottom that they guarentee to beat main dealer prices.

I should hope so too, seen as they are using independent garages to do the work.

£185 for full service including pick up/drop off which i didnt think was too bad, i called a couple of garages in hull to see if they would come pick it up but they're too lazy and charge additional costs, hopefully these goes will be okay fingers crossed

Hope you do have a good experience with them, and will be keeping an eye out for the results.

Not being funny, but would it not have been a better idea to ask for opinions before you booked in it? A lot of franchised dealers also offer this sort of service. Hope it all works out for you

I'm paying £125 at a local indi, wouldn't take much pursading to get a mate to take it there for me.

good point big jase!! never thought of that lol. no i never phoned them jigger72 i thought about calling and flegging down me phone at them but its a new phone haha. i never paid anything upfront (and never would) so its there loss of buisness.

Why not ask around for a good mobile mechanic? My guy's really reliable and cheap, will even let you source your own parts if you want, he's also VAT registered so your warenty is protected. A big plus for you he can entertain you as you are house bound.

Would want some assurance in the event of an accident that it would be their insurance would cover it !! emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Ooooh Errr... Missus!

There are two issues to be considered here. Firstly, this company has been set up to provide a service which, at this present time, fits your predicament (broken leg) and if they are a professional company (i.e. its core management ideals...so many companies do the talk but not the walk) and you are happy that this service and price suits you then consider it. The company will need people like you to take the plunge (because of the obvious fears..hence your question) to promote what they their are offering. But that is the second issue. How do you know if they are professional if not many have taken the 'plunge' and spoke about their experiences? I would ask questions about the person who will be collecting the car. Is this person fully employed by the company or someone employed on an adhoc basis (even cash in hand style basis), therefore, may not be fully committed to the company and greater risk of showing lesser respect to you as a customer and your car. Will the person be in company branded clothing (CLEAN overalls with company detailier, or smart: trousers and shirt. What about ID?). If anyone turns up grubby, unkept or inappropiately attired to what you would expect then cancel the agreement and send that person away. Will the driver be on a fully comprehensive insurance cover? Has the driver any previous motoring convictions (you have the right to ask)? I would also ask for a full specific list of work intended to be carried out and work that actually was carried out, especially if they outsource the work (do not use a garage they own), then if a fault appears, within a reasonable time, on an item in the list then you have some comeback to get it rectified. Sorry if not much help, but its up to you whether or not to take the 'plunge' but I would ask all questions that I, myself, want cleared up for peace of mind first (one way to be more assured if they are professional is that they will be willing and eager to answer any question you have).
