Octavia VRS Integrated Phone problem

Featured Replies

I have just bought a new 60 plate Octavia VRS.

Contacted Skoda for quote to fit Skoda Bluetooth phone kit that goes through the stereo.

Quoted £339 plus VAT. However, you lose the storage compartment below the stereo in front of the gearstick.

When they went to order the part at came up that this was only available in grey - which means that there is a panel that replaces the chromed compartment lid, but my interior is black.

The dealer contacted Skoda UK who confirmed that this is only available in grey. I asked whether they could order one in so that I could have a look but if the dealer orders one they are not able to return it.

Spoke to Skoda UK who confirmed that it is only available in grey and they wouldnt be able to get me one to order in and they are not able to let me know who manufactures the part so that I can get hold of one myself.

Does seem ridiculous that they one supply in grey given the variety of interiors you can have.

Wanted an integrated system through the stereo rather than a parrot type system.

Any ideas.

Thanks

I don't know what they are talking about, the integrated units sit below the drivers seat. For that price you'd be able to get a fully integrated fiscon unit

Sounds like the dealer is talking about the bluconnect system, which is basically a crap non integrated solution, the only thing it gets from the car is power. Its basicaly a very expensive alternative to a parrot system and not as good.

The oem factory system has no colour, is fitted below the drivers seat and fully integrates into the cars electrics and you lose no use of any of the cars interior parts.

I have a fiscon. Its completely invisible and fully integrated with the vehicle. ie you press the "phone" button on the bolero to access the phone and dial/receive calls etc via the bolero touch screen.

can't remember the exact price but it was c 400 quid fitted.

a search on this forum for "fiscon" will prob give you some more info.

cheers

the Bluetooth system I had fitted by D.M Keith is the Skoda one which fits in the sunglass holder. It's a silver/grey colour and looks good against the black roof lining.

have to be honest and say that I prefere the cradle phone holder system! The Bluetooth is very faffy to use.

Speak to Ben @ Shark Performance - Shark_90 on here.

He is going to do my bluetooth for me £350 to fit the original VAG equipment so it will be fully integrated

The Bluetooth is very faffy to use.

I have to say I find the opposite to be true - my fiscon links to the phone automatically whenever the phone is in the car (in the boot, in a bag, in my coat - wherever) and i can make or receive calls from a chuffing big touchscreen display in the middle of the dash AND has my top 6 on big fast-dial buttons. To me this is the exact opposite of 'faffy".. :p
