does the vrs octavia already have this and would it be a good mod? if the vrs already has is maybe the standard octavia could benifit?

Me too looking to see how many of you guys have done this mod and how the geras feel after fixing the short shifter. Awesome_gti does have one for the RS. It is the same as that of the golf I think, but it reduces teh shift distance by 40%.

2001 y reg octavia vrs numbers stamped on the shifter are

next to the vw logo 8N0 711 051 a

next to the audi logo zsb 8N0 711 046

having just a quick look at mine (in the bloody cold so i hope you appreciate this ) it looks like the longer of the two in the link,the one on the right in the photo.

i hope that of some help,i find the vrs shift very short compared to my last seat with cable change box,it was aweful
