Hi I have FL vrs with 6900 miles and last night it just cut out and the dash came up with several faults. Managed to get it started but the exhaust warning light was on checked the manual and this is not the DPF warning light. Got half way home and it cut out again and I couldn't start it, so AA came out reset the fault codes and it started and run fine. Got in the car this morning same thing exhaust light on, so I reset the fault codes with vcds and car is running ok again.

Below is the fault list which is odd as prity much everything appears to be faulty??? Could this be anything to do with the OPS parking sensors i've fitted affecting the drive can bus as alot of the modules are saying missing messages or communication?? I've also had the car mapped by shark so i'm a bit worried about taking it to the dealer just yet as if it's ecu failure i'm guessing the warranty isn't worth anything now.

That's great but if I can't drive the car Abs is a bit of a waste of time. At the moment it's a big black shed with wheels

Christ that pretty much a whole system failure! I would disconnect the parking sensors and remove the map esp as its still under warranty as most dealers will use any excuse to get out of a claim. Then reset the system and see what happens.

Why would a dealer say no, at the end of the day warranty is work for us! admited we do strugle with certain claims but most people think its us the dealers who dont want to help, but our HANDS are tied and if Skoda

say no what can we do!

Going back to the above prob i would retrack and think has this occured since you have fitted your sensors and if so disconect them cos if youve broke into a can bus wire all sorts of things could occur or is it since youve been remapped. Looking at your log i would say its going to be a fault on your ecu but i could be wrong. hope u get it sorted.

Not very likely to be the ECU in my opinion, check the relays in the engine bay fuse box. Not sure what numbers it will have on it but possibly 109 or 100. There should be a couple the same in there so try swapping them.

Sounds like some ECU issue, maybe corruption, did you back up the code before the sensors were fitted? I would not think a dealer would replace the item as I'm sure they're tested when they get sent back, so if its been tinkered with they'd be stuffed.

Re the post about dealers and warranty, its my experiance that even if its covered under warranty, cos they only get the cost back on parts/labour which are proven to fix something they don't want to know. i use SOGA rather than warranty.

Had something similar on my Fabia VRS. The guy who came out to it said the ECU was dead as his diagnostics couldnt talk to the ECU, said it would be lots of £s to replace. Luckily got it taken to independent garage who diagnosed a power relay failure - this was replaced for about £60. ECU was not at fault.

Hope your problem is something similar and not costly.

when I had the Corrado G60 certain things started to go funny ( rear wing, alarm, computer) new that it was the baterry. Even if you charge it up I´m sure days later you may have the same problem.

It's not the battery as I've tested it and it's taking a charge car is pulling a few amps when switched off should be about 0.5

Ok i've swapped the relays and no joy still cant start the car. When I turn the ignition on car comes up with fault ESP. With vag com I cant get into engine 01 at all to see what the fault codes are however when i do a full scan sometimes it comes back with,

read on ross tech wiki a few possible causes but unless it's because i've had the car remapped and now it's caused the ecu to fail I can't see why i would suddenly get a can bus fault?

Have you checked each and every fuse? Has this just happened since the parking sensors were fitted? Possibly an earthing fault somewhere?

That's 200 miles away!! I also want to be sure exactly whats wrong with it before I do anything.

The car was fine just cut out with engine light on I managed to start it but the engine light stayed on but then cut out before I got home and then wouldn't start. AA did a scan and his box said no coms with ECM/PCM but he then managed to clear all faults and the car started with no light on dash. Got home ok so next day went out in it and it seemed ok and then it just died in the middle of a roundabout which was fantastic. AA guy said same thing ECM/PCM no coms and he couldnt reset faults.

As soon as I turn the ignition maxidot comes up with FAULT ESP. I can't reset the faults as they just come back and 1 Engine module just comes up with no coms. My battery has also died very quickly and I've had to charge it so i'm guessing something is causing it not to power down.

Another strange thing is if i turn the ignition on the fan comes on straight away for a minute or so? is this normal? The relay in the engine bay next to the battery is also clicking on and off and continues to do so untill the dash pod powers down a minute or so after turning ignition off. I've swapped it for another relay the same under the dash as I only had one in the box next to battery.
