raising car suspension on a t reg skoda pickup ?

Featured Replies

got a little pickup, just wanted if it would be worth raiseing it cheap ?, would the steering and proformance be weeker ?

you could raise it up by extending the threads on the top of the dampers and spacers etc but 8" is a huge amount, all the steering geometry would be miles out, and the driveshafts/cv joints would be at a strange angle... you would also need longer brake pipes etc etc

how about 4 inch ? or how far ?

i'm afraid that's an unknown as well seeing as i'm never tried it... mine has gone the other way... closer to the ground :giggle:

If your trying it for ground clearance its not going to net you a lot as the ream beam is still going to be at the same fixed height.

... and at the front the right-side driveshaft will hit the wishbone, I think?

Why on earth would you want to raise it up? Surely a felly pick up would be hopeless off road! Buy a hilux?

i love my skoda. Thats why i want to raise it so i dont have to clime in it, i want to fall in it as they say, like a hilux, people lower them, all i wanted to know is, would i be able to higher the pick up ? thanks

anything is possible but it would need lots of hard and expensive work, you could put spacers between the x member and the body and drop the engine by the same amount or you could fit massive wheels I guess
