yes it changed with the fabia facelift....

my 04 plate had a exclamation mark and my 05 had a skidding car

Can't be a clear-cut as coming in with the facelift. I have a 54-plate with (all-but-one, apparently) of the FL changes, which was one of the first as I actually delayed delivery by a fortnight to get the correct build date...

Which fault signal appeared on the RH lower of engine temp indicator and engine failed to start /unable to start.
