Brake pads

Featured Replies

Might be missing something major here but is there any definate way you can check if your brake pads are getting low without actually taking the whell off or just feeling through the pedals?

If your brake fluid low level warning light flashes on really hard cornering, that's one sign... on my car that's followed the next day by grinding & grating noises coming from the wheel area under braking... and my passenger saying "So Rog, that's pads AND disks again, is it??"

theres a gap on the back of the caliper you may be able to see them through there.not checked to be honest ,i just take the rim off.

I find it suprising that your rear pads need changing already. That said Jason had a problem with his and had to change his discs as well.

Isn't there a brake wear indicator on Fabias? You should be able to look between alloys at the caliper and see the pad....I think.

Will have to get a torch out tonight and have alook.

I seem to be having the same prob as a few others, back brakes grinding like they have worn out.

I drive 65 miles a day min and lots of 60-0 braking, so I find it wierd that brake disc/pad corrosion could be a problem. heard the noise and just made the connection with worn pads . . .

Will inspect them tonight. I was thinking that they would have an auto light warning thing.

Mind you the revervse braking wailing has gone since this grinding started.
