Gear change is getting increasingly sticky and noisy the noise is clicky sounds like its coming from the clutch but could be mistaken with the engine off its squeaky.

Should I order the vr6/g60 kit now or try something less drastic like topping up the oil? was last serviced at skoda 10k ago not sure if the last garage will have topped up the gearbox oil.

Autodata just says 75W/90 synthetic, but no other requirements. This gives you quite a choice:

Just to add to the confusion, though, Opie themselves recommend 75W/80:

go to a vag dealer and order some GO60 726 A2

anything else isn't up to spec and vag transmissions are notoriously fussy about gear oil

i wouldn't run anything other than vag oil considering it only costs about £10 for the 2 litres you need

If your unsure that yours is the same, feel around the gearstick at 7 o'clock, you can feel the locking stub then yours can be done,

Its worked a treat on a few gearboxes I have worked on, a good oil change is worth doing aswell.
