Carpet Mats

Featured Replies

Although it does not show under equipment spec., I've been told carpet mats come as standard with the Elegance model.

True or false?

Not true in my case. Is the dealer throwing them in for nothing? I bought the rubber mats anyway, about £30 for four. Much easier to clean than carpet.

I'd be interested to hear if they do, also be pretty amazed. I've not seen new cars at this level with them supplied as standard before. Rubber mats are really what I'd need as well.

I did the same, easy clean option..... And light coloured paint, "less washing!". I had a black car once, that kept me fit cleaning it!

Same here, dealer suggested I got an 'Adventure pack' rubber mats, boot liner and mudguards. Really pleased I did. The mats and boot liner are excellent and the mudguards very discrete. Don't think I would ever go back to 'carpet' mats now.

I got both sets but soon relegated the carpet ones to the garage! Rubber all the way for me now :giggle:

Wish I could have rubber seats as well so I could hose out the car - or is that too weird? :giggle:

Only if you left the Gimp in the boot while you did it. :o

Carpet mats are nothing like as good as rubber ones.

Are these the Skoda rubber ones or an after-market type?

Do they have a raised edge to keep the cr@p in?

Better not be free or James would have some explisning to do lol.

I hate rubber mats, just get wet and horrible and slippery, so fabric for me !

On one of the other threads on carpet mats somebody said you can pressure wash the textile ones to clean them, so I'll be going down that route I expect.

Ahh notice you ordered white with gobi interior which I have just got, great choice you will LOVE it !!

Fabric mats are OK, nice big yeti logo on them but you can always get very good fabric mats from lots of places online which will be very good. I know everyone to their own but I just find rubber mats stay wet and slippery and then you drag wet crap into the house cos it doesnt dry on short journeys.

Hope to see it when you take delivery !

I'm looking forward to seeing it as well, emoticon-0140-rofl.gif, though it won't be as bright and airy as yours as I believe you have one with that disease, a hole in the roof.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif.

It must be about 2 weeks to manufacture sometime this week.....I hope.

Mine are Skoda, yes they have a raised edge and they are a snug fit so no sliding around. They fit over the buttons on the floor. I am pleased with them, so far they give good grip and a quick shake and a sluice keep them clean.

Yes genuine Skoda and yes they do keep the cr@p in.

I found this quite interesting as my Elegance came with the textile mats - admittedly it was ex-demo, but they were pretty keen to point out any other options included - perhaps they missed a trick. I bought the rubber ones - excellent value I thought at £31 - and come with screw-in buttons, so some models perhaps don't have them already in place on the floor. I also like that they are not too smelly - the ones I had in the Landy made it pong of rubber all the time I had it.

I think carpet mats are standard on the Elegance - mine came with them but they are nothing like as good as the genuine Skoda rubber mats that I now have.

I've always managed to get the mats thrown in as part of the deal (always after the price has been finalised).

I've always gone for carpet mats too.

IF standard ??? with the Elegance they would not need to include them as part of the deal - bit like buying the rough road package in order to get the wheel arch protective film - which is now believed to be standard fit on UK cars??? A couple of newish 60 plate demos at my dealer's did not have that film fitted ??????? :S

We bought an SE, so I can't really comment on the Elegance.

Mine was more of a general comment regarding every car I've bought from a dealer.
