IRRITATING PASSENGER SEAT BELT TAP TAP TAP!

Featured Replies

Not sure if anyone else suffers from this but my passenger seat belt taps against the plastic upright when not in use, its starting to do my head in! ive seen it in other models ie vw/audi, they fit a soft padded material around the top of the buckle - any ideas where this might be available from? Its effectively just sticky-backed material but i just cant find it anywhere!

Cheers,

Sam

Thank god I'm not the only one that finds this annoying!!

Have been trying to come up with a solution but not found one yet - thread set to watched

Oh No!

One of the things that annoys me to death about my present car is the tap tap tap of the passenger seat belt, oh and the rattle from the rear set of seat belts. But then it is a Ford, so what can I expect!

I surely hope that the VRS will be much better!

Would something like the sticky back foam circles you can buy from B&Q not do the trick?

Try shifting the height adjuster - may be you can get the belt into a better position where it doesn't rattle.

In 4 yrs of Octavia driving I have never had a problem - SWMBO is rather petite so has the belt nearly at the lowest point so that could be the answer.

stick a small magnet to the bulkhead to keep the seatbelt in place

Try clipping it in as you would if a person was sat there

Solves all your noise problems, and its free

It used to drive me stir crazy too! Simple solution - change the high adjustment of the belt. For me, I think it started when the Mrs moved it down to the lowest position it would go - I moved it up a bit and it sorted it.

I had teh same problem - put a question on here and got the same answers as above - move the belt height adjuster to it's highest setting on the pillar and it stops. emoticon-0148-yes.gif
