2 years, 20k miles service offer

Featured Replies

I've got a 59 Fabia II 1.9 TDi (December 2009) which is just coming up to its 20,000 mile service so I've been looking at the threads where people have been giving their opinion on how much this should cost. It looks like it should be around the £210 mark. I paid £132 for the 10,000 mile service so the following offer looks like a bargain.

My local Skoda dealer is quoting £299 for 2 years / 20,000 miles fixed interval services which includes a £100 voucher for any Skoda item from the dealer or the parts website.

Is this a good deal or is there something I'm missing?

It's a good deal if you want to buy something for £100 from the parts dept. Otherwise it's very expensive. I paid £200 from my Skoda dealer and £76 for the £10k service, again from my Skoda dealer.

I recently paid £245 for the 2 year/ 20,000 mile service which included changing the brake fluid as recommended. The price was similar at my two nearest Skoda dealers. I think I'd refuse the voucher and ask for a lower price.

Surely, that makes the offer a good buy then?.......in effect you're getting the cheaper service for £54 plus a £100 voucher!

I think the offer is for 2 year's servicing or 20,000 miles which is 2 services for me: 20k & 30k. I'll check with Bickertons and get more detail.

My 20k service on the Greenline was £196 with Westover Skoda.

mine was £220 inc vat 1st october 1.9 tdi got this back when i ordered new one1.2 tsi se

I contacted Bickertons who gave me the following prices, roughly, which I would be facing over the next year or so.

20k service (incl filter) £210

30k service about £100

Oil change at 2 years £45

All these would be included in the £299 offer so it would appear even without the £100 of vouchers that I'd see a saving of £50+.

Having already purchased the headlamp protectors and sun-glasses holder can anyone suggest something useful to buy for £100?

Spare alloy? Or spacesaver, if you are happy to drive on them.

Mats, Mudflaps, Bootliner. Thats come to about a ton!

Armrest? That will set you back an additional 25 notes.

You may have some or all of these!

OR... Ask if you can keep it towards the next service!

I was thinking of one of these: Cool box. Has anybody got one or something similar?

I got a letter about the servicing deal but still in two minds to do it or not, we only do about 3000-4000 miles a year so is it worth it for us.

You'd still need 2 services in 2 years so it's worth checking on the price for them.

KNow doubt the dealer will call me about this and i'll ask him about the service deal. I will also ask how much 2 services would cost at the local garage i use.
